Kitchen and bath design is constantly evolving to meet the modern needs and lifestyle of today’s families. The kitchen is not solely intended for meal preparation and cooking. It has become a focal point for entertaining and the central hub of activity in any home. The bath has become a tranquil space to retreat to after a long day.
The Kitchen and Bath Graduate Certificate program at Algonquin College, the first of its kind in Ontario, will teach you to create innovative functional spaces with a general understanding of the industry codes, guidelines, and standards. You will also explore current design trends, innovative fixtures and appliances, natural sustainable products, and barrier free design.
The program has achieved Supported Status with the National Kitchen and Bath Association making it the third college in Canada to achieve recognition from the NKBA. The program also has strong support from the NKBA-Ottawa Chapter. The Ottawa Chapter created the first Bursary for students in the program raising over $6,000.00 which was matched by the Provincial Government. They continue to be supportive by hosting the student awards, offering awards for achievements upon graduation and mentor our students through work placement.
“Graduates will have the skills to plan safe, functional, efficient and attractive kitchen and bathroom designs that will meet the needs of their client and improve how the home functions. If you are creative, love to problem solve and have an acute attention to detail then you will thrive in this challenging and evolving industry.” Sandra Gibbons
